CUCKOO MARAN
 
Cuckoo Maran is a French breed of chicken from the port town of Marans. It is a dual-purpose bird known for the rich chocolate colored eggs it lays. It’s a fast-growing bird whose eggs can sometimes have dark speckles on the shell.
 
Cuckoo Maran’s lay approximately 180 eggs per year, are very hardy in colder climates and make an excellent choice for those interested in raising meat birds.
